The highly anticipated and newly renovated Dahl Residence Hall reopened to students in 2012. The three story building, originally built in 1958, has
undergone a major redesign and construction in order to create and introduce a better living environment for students and staff. LKPB Engineers provided complete
mechanical and electrical design for the 2-phase, $5.86 million dollar project.
Mechanical renovations included a new air handling system and fire protection system to serve the building. A new water service was provided to feed the fire piping
system and sprinkler heads, as the building was previously not sprinklered. Restrooms were remodeled with all new plumbing fixtures and new piping provides for the hallís
water system including laundry and rest area.
The 75,000 square foot dormitory was renovated with new electrical services. Once a dim complex, controls and lighting systems were modernized throughout the hall
to set a more comfortable setting. A fully addressable fire alarm system was also added to modernize the current structure.
